Limpsfield in Bloom is very proud of its many golds for the annual Britain in Bloom competition, which is run by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) to promote community gardening. This year’s Britain in Bloom, themed ‘Grow Social’, highlights the importance of the scheme’s community and volunteer involvement, that aims to draw communities together in a combined effort by people of all ages and backgrounds to improve where they live and work. Spring has definitely sprung this week and thoughts turn to our gardens and this year’s Britain in Bloom. As ever, our entry into this national competition run by the Royal Horticultural Society is expertly handled by Limpsfield In Bloom, who have had a lot of success in the RHS Britain in Bloom competition, winning many Gold medals over the years!
This amazing bunch of green-fingered volunteers, led by Ann Osborn and Lilian Hindley, keep the village looking lovely – from flowerbeds, troughs, borders and baskets, to verges and village signs. They also run educational activities with Limpsfield CofE Infants School. Limpsfield in Bloom received another Gold medal last week in the ‘South & South East in Bloom’ competition run annually by the Royal Horticultural Society. Limpsfield was also awarded the ‘Best Large Village’ award for the South and South East and the allotments were given an ‘outstanding’ accolade!
