Fashion with a Difference

One of the highlights of the month is a wonderfully creative Upcycled Musical Charity Fashion Show on Thursday 2 July at Kate Tulett Art Studio. Kate Tulett Art, Hazelwood School students and sustainable fashion brand Bey Tree have joined forces to present an inspiring evening celebrating creativity, sustainability and music. Running from 6pm to 10pm, tickets are just £10, with all proceeds supporting Kate’s Community Fund.

An Evening of Beautiful Music

Classical music lovers are in for a treat on Saturday 11 July, when the Oxted & Limpsfield Music Society welcomes acclaimed mezzo-soprano Helen Charlston, accompanied by pianist Sholto Kynoch, to Hazelwood School Concert Hall. The programme features Schubert’s beautiful Die Schöne Müllerin song cycle alongside Moments Musicaux for solo piano. The concert starts at 7.30pm and admission is free for under 26s.

Flowers in Bloom

The Oxted & Limpsfield Floral Design Society continues its summer programme with a flower arranging demonstration by Angela Woodley, “Wood and Wool,” on 8 July. Looking ahead, there’s a Summer Social on 12 August, followed by Nicola Wright’s “Inspired by Nature” demonstration on 9 September.

Pick a Little Litter… Enjoy a Little Reward

Fancy doing something positive for the village while meeting a few friendly faces?

The Limpsfield Litter Angels’ new “Pick n’ Pint (or Prosecco)” starts this month, on the second Saturday of every month. Meet outside The Bull Inn at 10.30am on Saturday 11 July, with all equipment provided. After an hour helping to keep our village looking its best, you’re invited back to The Bull for an optional well-earned drink. To register your interest, email hello@limpsfieldsurrey.com.

Keeping Limpsfield Blooming

On Saturday 18 July, the village celebrates Keep Limpsfield Blooming. Although the Limpsfield in Bloom team has stepped back from RHS competition after an incredible 20 years of Gold Awards, volunteers continue to work tirelessly alongside Limpsfield Parish Council to keep the village looking beautiful.

Why not make a day of it? Enjoy a stroll through the village, browse our independent shops, stop for lunch in one of the pubs or cafés, and perhaps round it off with afternoon tea at St Peter’s Church Hall.

Cricket, Community and Local History

There’s plenty happening on Sunday 19 July too.

Limpsfield Chart Cricket Club is hosting a Women’s Softball Festival, celebrating women’s cricket in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re playing or simply cheering from the sidelines, everyone is welcome.

History enthusiasts can also enjoy guided tours of the WW2 Air Raid Shelters on Limpsfield Common, organised by the Friends of Limpsfield Common and the Limpsfield Royal British Legion Club. Tours run throughout the afternoon and should be booked in advance via Eventbrite.

Cricket fans can also enjoy regular weekend fixtures throughout the summer at both Oxted & Limpsfield Cricket Club at Grub Street and Limpsfield Chart Cricket Club, while the Royal British Legion Club continues to host live music and social events—and is the perfect place to catch the cricket with a refreshing pint.
