This Monday, 28th May, 2-6pm the One World Group, Oxted is hosting open gardens in six beautiful locations around Limpsfield and Oxted. Teas will be available at two of the gardens and you’ll also be able to buy plants and tickets for a raffle.

When I was a little girl, I spent a lot of time at Tenchleys Manor, the then home of one of my childhood friends, Alexia. I lived in a fairly old house myself on Trevereux Hill, but was in awe of the size, age and history of this ancient Manor House. It seemed enormous and spooky to me, then. Panda Nursery will be hosting an Ultimate Quiz Night to raise funds on 18 May, from 7:30pm for an 8pm start. The event will be hosted by one of the UK’s most prolific professional quizmasters – who also happens to be a Panda dad! Spring has definitely sprung this week and thoughts turn to our gardens and this year’s Britain in Bloom. As ever, our entry into this national competition run by the Royal Horticultural Society is expertly handled by Limpsfield In Bloom, who have had a lot of success in the RHS Britain in Bloom competition, winning many Gold medals over the years!
This amazing bunch of green-fingered volunteers, led by Ann Osborn and Lilian Hindley, keep the village looking lovely – from flowerbeds, troughs, borders and baskets, to verges and village signs. They also run educational activities with Limpsfield CofE Infants School. Many of you will know that after a decade, much-loved owner of The Bull Inn, Sue Dickens, has decided to move on to pastures and opportunities new. Exciting news is that The Bull is being bought by Enterprising Limpsfield, a local initiative, formed of community-minded individuals, that aims to create a community hub, based at The Bull, to help promote local food and drink and other like-minded, quality local businesses.
