The results have now been analysed and the Plan is being drafted… Continue reading “Neighbourhood Plan – next steps”

Tenchleys Manor – memories from childhood

When I was a little girl, I spent a lot of time at Tenchleys Manor, the then home of one of my childhood friends, Alexia.  I lived in a fairly old house myself on Trevereux Hill, but was in awe of the size, age and history of this ancient Manor House. It seemed enormous and spooky to me, then. It’s still huge of course, but not quite as spooky…at least during the day;)  Continue reading “Tenchleys Manor – memories from childhood”

Get involved: Limpsfield in Bloom

Spring has definitely sprung this week and thoughts turn to our gardens and this year’s Britain in Bloom. As ever, our entry into this national competition run by the Royal Horticultural Society is expertly handled by Limpsfield In Bloom, who have had a lot of success in the RHS Britain in Bloom competition, winning many Gold medals over the years!

This amazing bunch of green-fingered volunteers, led by Ann Osborn and Lilian Hindley, keep the village looking lovely – from flowerbeds, troughs, borders and baskets, to verges and village signs. They also run educational activities with Limpsfield CofE Infants School.  They need more volunteers of all ages to help them keep the village looking lovely… Continue reading “Get involved: Limpsfield in Bloom”

Who’s representing the younger people of Limpsfield?

Last week I went to my first Parish Council Annual Meeting.  There was a pretty good turnout at St Peter’s Church Hall for a Thursday evening. An enterprising new era for The Bull

Many of you will know that after a decade, much-loved owner of The Bull Inn, Sue Dickens, has decided to move on to pastures and opportunities new.  Exciting news is that The Bull is being bought by Enterprising Limpsfield, a local initiative, formed of community-minded individuals, that aims to create a community hub, based at The Bull, to help promote local food and drink and other like-minded, quality local businesses.
