An apple a day keeps the doctor away – a visit to Limpsfield’s Community Orchard

This weekend, Saturday May 5th, the Limpsfield Community Orchard is hosting its annual blossom viewing – from 10.30 to 12.00 – with coffee/tea and apple cake as usual!  Everyone is invited. It’s a lovely thing to do with all the family.

On the recent warm weekend, I went to meet the dedicated team running the orchard. Get involved: Limpsfield in Bloom

Spring has definitely sprung this week and thoughts turn to our gardens and this year’s Britain in Bloom. As ever, our entry into this national competition run by the Royal Horticultural Society is expertly handled by Limpsfield In Bloom, who have had a lot of success in the RHS Britain in Bloom competition, winning many Gold medals over the years!

This amazing bunch of green-fingered volunteers, led by Ann Osborn and Lilian Hindley, keep the village looking lovely – from flowerbeds, troughs, borders and baskets, to verges and village signs. An enterprising new era for The Bull

Many of you will know that after a decade, much-loved owner of The Bull Inn, Sue Dickens, has decided to move on to pastures and opportunities new.  Exciting news is that The Bull is being bought by Enterprising Limpsfield, a local initiative, formed of community-minded individuals, that aims to create a community hub, based at The Bull, to help promote local food and drink and other like-minded, quality local businesses.

Stone noses – Sarah Cheeseman talks about her pebble art

Sarah Cheeseman’s creative pebble art is currently on display and sale in Limpsfield’s Avalanche Gallery. While the local mum doesn’t actually live in Limpsfield, she regularly treks down Titsey Hill from her home “in the clouds” (aka Woldingham) , with children attending Funky Feet at Surrey Dance and for visits to Limpsfield Ceramics.
