Easter is upon us, and starting from tomorrow, Palm Sunday, St Peter’s Church in Limpsfield Village and St Andrew’s Church in Limpsfield Chart will be a hive of activity with Easter services and other activities throughout Holy Week… Full list below.
Sunday 25 March – Palm Sunday
10am Meet in The Bull Car Park for the Blessing of the Palms, trumpet and palm procession to St Peter’s. Service starts at St Peter’s at 10.15am
Monday 26 March
3.30pm Children’s Church in St Andrew’s Hall, Limpsfield Chart – Easter crafts and activities. For all children with their parents or carers
Tuesday 27 March
8pm Service of Wholeness and Healing at St Peter’s, Limpsfield
A moving service with hymns and time for quiet reflection, concentrating on the ministry of healing through the laying on of hands and anointing. Come for yourself, or for others.
Wednesday 28 March
8pm Tenebrae Service of Shadows at St Andrew’s, Limpsfield Chart
The service starts in candlelight. After every reading a light is extinguished until the church is eventually left in darkness, representing the Passion story.
Thursday 29 March
8pm Maundy Thursday service at St Peter’s, Limpsfield
With the receiving of the oils, washing of feet, remembering of the last supper, journey to the garden of Gethsemane and the Gospel watch. You are welcome to leave whenever you need. The Watch finishes at 10pm.
Good Friday 30 March
10.30am Informal Good Friday service for all-ages at St Peter’s, Limpsfield
2pm Liturgy of Good Friday service at St Peter’s, Limpsfield
Also at 12Noon there is a Walk of Witness in Oxted. Everyone from Churches Together Oxted will meet at 11.50am by the Council Offices. Everyone will carry the cross, stop for quiet reflection and offer hot cross buns to those they meet. Families welcome.
Easter Sunday 1 April
10am Festival Eucharist at St Peter’s Limpsfield – Come and celebrate Easter. Bring a flower with you to decorate our Easter cross.
