Limpsfield & St Peter’s Go Floral!

Once again, the village was transformed for Limpsfield in Bloom with hanging baskets, pots, flower beds and other displays colouring the village in a sea of purple, green and white to celebrate the end of WW1 and the suffragette movement, with judging day taking place last Thursday (5 July).

This year, however, the Limpsfield in Bloom organisers decided to go one bigger, staging the first Limpsfield Flower Festival and Celebration Concert in conjunction with St Peter’s Church. Continue reading “Limpsfield & St Peter’s Go Floral!”

Meet the family behind Limpsfield’s new café

The new kids on the block (aka Limpsfield High Street) are Theresa, Hayley and Sean, who have just opened new café, Coffee at Kiwi House.  If you’ve not been yet, take a trip up the high street – Tuesday to Sunday – for coffee, cakes, breakfasts and light lunches. Cider, Crisps and Cricket at The Royal British Legion, Limpsfield!

One of the perfect places to spend a Summer’s afternoon is the Royal British Legion at Grub Street, Limpsfield.  This hidden gem has been part of Limpsfield life for around 80 years and is in a truly lovely location, on the edge of the Grub Street cricket pitch (home to Oxted & Limpsfield Cricket Club) and overlooking the common, Limpsfield CofE Infants School and the Limpsfield Chart Golf Club.

Don’t Miss: One World Group’s Open Gardens tomorrow

Celebrating the life of a local legend, Joyce Carter

Joyce Carter, née Jarrett, passed away on April 20th, at the ripe old age of 92. This much-loved Limpsfield “legend”, owner of Joyce’s on Limpsfield Chart for over 25 years, will be remembered by several generations of local Limpsfield and Limpsfield Chart residents.  Her funeral will be held at St Peters at noon on the 16th of May.
