Surrey County Council has recently set up “Your Fund”, a funding scheme for community projects that will benefit their communities. Several Limpsfield organisations have now registered bids for funding and here’s how you can help them to succeed…

In order to support the following bids, all you have to do is click on each of their links, and simply scroll down until you see a button marked AGREE and click. The first time you do this, it will ask for your email address and then ask a few very quick questions. After the first time, you’ll simply be able to AGREE without further questions.

Friends of Limpsfield Common – Access Trail and Family Trail

Last autumn the Friends of Limpsfield Common (FoLC) conducted a survey asking, amongst other things, what visitors liked about the Common and what could be improved. They had almost 400 responses.

The Friends of Limpsfield Common have applied to the scheme for funding to create and way mark an easy Access Trail and Family Trail with new maps, trails, way finders, signage and information; new facilities and seating.

Limpsfield Way Walk & Cycle Route

Part of the Limpsfield Neighbourhood Plan is to improve walking routes and cycle ways in the Parish wherever possible, and Limpsfield Parish Council has put in a bid for funding for a family friendly circular walking route from Limpsfield Chart to Limpsfield and a family friendly cycle route from the Chart to Limpsfield and back.

Both routes will have clear way mark discs and information boards highlighting interesting historical aspects of the area, as well as information about refreshment stops in Limpsfield and on the Chart to support local business.

The family friendly, easy access walking route will be just over 4 miles long, with no stiles to navigate, so it’s easy for families with dogs and pushchairs.

The cycle route, which is currently being planned in conjunction with the National Trust, other local landowners, Tandridge LC and Surrey County Council is there and back from Limpsfield to Limpsfield chart, using existing tracks, bridleways and quiet roads.

Limpsfield Tennis Club – Padel Courts

If you’ve been to spain you’ll have seen Padel Courts everywhere! Padel is a very fast growing derivative of tennis – played in a glass enclosed outdoor court that’s about 25% smaller than a standard tennis court and has no doubles lanes. Scoring is the same as normal tennis and the balls used are similar, but depressurised. It’s excellent fun for all the family.

Limpsfield Tennis Club is keen to build two Padel Courts to introduce this hugely fun and very accessible sport to Limpsfield!

Limpsfield Chart Cricket Club – Carpark and Pavilion

The Limpsfield Chart Cricket Club is the only sports facility in Limpsfield Chart.

The current timber building was constructed in the 1970s and is starting to deteriorate, and there is currently no disabled toilet facilities or space for separate changing spaces for children, female players and officials.

The Club would like to construct a modern fit-for-purpose inclusive facility, that the whole community can benefit from.
