May in Limpsfield marks the start of summer in all the best ways – cricket on the green, gardens opening their gates, and plenty of opportunities to get involved in village life.
Cricket is back!
The season begins in earnest, with matches at both Limpsfield Chart Cricket Club and OLCC’s Grub Street ground. The ever-popular OLCC vs Chart fixtures are back on 2 May, bringing a bit of friendly rivalry to set the tone for the summer ahead!

Step back in time – 9 May, Surrey Day
The Friends of Limpsfield Common are once again opening the WWII air raid shelters on Grub Street. This is a brilliant (and free) chance to explore the underground shelters and see spigot mortars up close, with costumed “air raid wardens” helping bring history to life. Reservations should be made in advance via Eventbrite – see www.friendsoflimpsfieldcommon.org. Parking at New Road, Grub Street and at the Legion. Coffees, teas, snacks and beers at The Legion too!
Have your say – Annual Parish Meeting 14 May
This year’s Annual Parish Meeting takes place on Thursday 14 May at St Peter’s Church Hall (7.30pm prompt). It’s a great opportunity to hear what’s been happening locally, ask questions, raise issues and meet your local Councillors and community groups and associations. This year we will hear from our parish council, Dr David Hill (Oxted Health Centre), Emma Tinker (Limpsfield Chart Residents Association) and Councillor Deb Shiner (vice chair of Tandridge District Council).
Refreshments provided! Community groups are invited along to share what they do. Please email the Clerk: clerk@limpsfieldparishcouncil.gov.uk
