Titsey Place & Gardens opens from 17 May

The beautiful and historic Titsey Place off Water Lane in Limpsfield and its gorgeous gardens will once again be open to the public from May 17 through to 27 September, 2017.

If you’re a local dog owner, you probably walk through the Titsey Estate often, but over the summer, Titsey is a fantastic place to take your mum, friends, children (but not dogs, except guide dogs) to have a look around the house, explore the gardens and woodland or have tea in the old Home Farm dairy buildings, which were converted into Tea Rooms in 2007. Why is the Limpsfield area overrun with grasshoppers?

You may (or may not) have noticed that the area around Limpsfield has a recurring motif – the grasshopper.  This chirpy little critter has given its name to The Grasshopper Inn and Grasshopper on the Green in Westerham and to the local youth team of the Limpsfield and Oxted Cricket Club. It also features as the emblem of Titsey Manor (The Titsey Crest),  Botley Hill Farmhouse, The Limpsfield Chart Golf Club and the Limpsfield Decorative Fine Arts Society!   Continue reading “Why is the Limpsfield area overrun with grasshoppers?”
