Christmas seems to start earlier each year and it’s no different at Limpsfield Memorial Stores as they prepare for their busiest time of the year. So it’s time to talk turkey!
Their Christmas stock is now in store, so pop in and pick up a unique Christmas gift from a broad range of biscuits, tinned goods, stollen, cakes, chocolates, jams and chutneys, cards and decorations, much of which is locally sourced.
This year they will be selling locally-reared turkeys from Stockenden Farm in Limpsfield. Tony and his family have been farming here since 1954 and produce slow maturing turkeys kept in large open sided barns to maximise daylight and quality of life and provide them with protection and plenty of space to roam, lots of straw and fresh air.
Limpsfield Memorial Stores has sold Tony’s turkeys for many years now and customers have said they are the best turkeys they have ever tasted. The Stores are taking orders now, so be quick as they are very popular!
You can specify the size of your turkey, either a whole bird, a crown or a boneless rolled turkey joint. The turkeys arrive fully prepared and are available for collection from the shop on 23rd and 24th December.
Memorial Stores, which celebrated 20 years as a volunteer-run community shop and post office back in May, is always on the look-out for volunteers, so if you would like give some time to the shop, please pop in and have a chat with the volunteer on the till, or with shop manager, Kerry.
The volunteers have a lovely time, getting to know the customers in a friendly environment. It’s a great way to meet people, while contributing to a fabulous and much-valued resource in the village.
