Nursing on the Frontline: Wartime Memories from Oxted & Limpsfield Cottage Hospital

On August 18, 1940, nurse J.H. Allen experienced her first day of combat nursing amidst the Battle of Britain. She treated Dunkirk survivors and civilian casualties while witnessing intense air battles. Remarkably, she encountered King George VI during troop reviews. Allen’s experiences deeply shaped her nursing career and provided lasting memories of wartime unity.

Christmas What’s On – updated!

Limpsfield is bustling with festive activities leading up to Christmas, including a Christmas Tree Parade, breakfast with Santa, creative workshops, and various events at local venues like The Bull Inn and The Legion. Services on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day feature music, food, and community gatherings, culminating in New Year’s Eve celebrations.

There are Christmas craft workshops and families can enjoy “Breakfast with Santa,” festive parties, and Christmas services at local churches.

Launch of Limpsfield Community Seed Swap

Limpsfield’s Biodiversity Corner is launching a “Community Seed Swap” to enhance local plant biodiversity. Residents can collect an envelope from designated locations, fill it with seeds from June to November, and prepare for upcoming seed swap events.
