As spring begins in the UK, bee swarming season starts, marking a natural reproductive process for honeybee colonies. Swarms, usually docile as they search for new homes, can often be temporarily observed. If a swarm poses a risk, local beekeepers can safely relocate them. Bumblebees, unlike honeybees, do not swarm and should generally be left undisturbed.
The Big Garden Birdwatch, occurring from January 24-26, invites participants to support wildlife conservation by monitoring bird populations. Organized by the RSPB, the event raises awareness about environmental challenges, connects people with nature, and offers a family-friendly, simple way to engage in conservation efforts while fostering a sense of community.
