Limpsfield gets behind Chris Robshaw for Strictly, plus spooky October goings-on!

Did you know Limpsfield has its very own Strictly star this year?  Our very own twinkletoes, Chris Robshaw, has traded rugby boots for ballroom shoes, joining the 2025 celebrity line-up of Strictly Come Dancing.

Chris is best known as a former England rugby union player and captain. His rugby journey began at local club, Warlingham RFC before he joined Harlequins straight out of school, rising to captain at just 23.

Over his international career, he earned 66 caps for England, captaining the side 43 times and famously leading them to a Six Nations Grand Slam in 2016. At club level, he played 300 games for Harlequins, guiding them through one of their most successful eras and becoming the only player to win the Aviva Premiership Player of the Year Award twice.

These days, Chris is happily rooted family life with his wife, opera singer Camilla, and their two young boys.

Away from the dance floor, he’s a TV pundit, an active supporter of several charities, including the Kerslake Robshaw Foundation, which he and Camilla set up to support disadvantaged young people through music and sport. He also balances roles in both business development and fine wine investment.

So how is he feeling about sequins and samba?  Chris admits Strictly is “as far out of my comfort zone as it gets”, but if his rugby career taught us anything, it’s that he always gives 110%!

The Village has been getting behind him and Chris has also created his own posts on socials, heralding his first appearance with a quick dance intro with Theresa from Coffee at Kiwi House!

The Bull Inn is hosting Strictly Saturdays throughout Chris’s time in the competition (hopefully right to the final!), screening Strictly Come Dancing live on the big screen in both The Grainstore and the Main Bar. It’s the perfect excuse for an evening of glitz, glam and community spirit – over a pint or two. And yes, sequins are strongly encouraged!

Let’s get behind Chris, cheer him on, and keep Limpsfield sparkling on Saturday nights. Go Chris!
