Summer Fun for All the Family in Limpsfield this August

A big round of applause goes to the Limpsfield in Bloom team and all the local residents, businesses, Panda Nursery, and Limpsfield Fitness for their incredible efforts in marking the 20th anniversary of Limpsfield in Bloom. The village is looking amazing, and the beautifully decorated K6 phone box was a real standout! 

With the school holidays now in full swing, it’s time to embrace the best of summer right here in Limpsfield. Whether you’re keeping the kids entertained, catching up with friends, or just making the most of the long, warm days, there’s no shortage of things to see and do this August. Here’s a selection of what you can get up to around Limpsfield this August…

Summer Activities for All Ages

If you’re looking to fill the calendar, there’s something for everyone over the coming weeks.

At The Bull Inn:

  • Saturday 2 August (from 1pm): Enjoy a charity event in aid of Parkinson’s, with live music, BBQ, adult sumo suits, hook-a-duck, karaoke, and more family-friendly fun.
  • Thursday 21 August (8pm): Test your trivia at Quiz Night.
  • Sunday 24 August (10am): Join the pub’s popular dog walk.
  • 21–25 August: Don’t miss the Real Ale Festival featuring 12 local ales, brewery meet-and-greets, food stalls, and daily entertainment.

Creative Kids and Sports Camps

  • Budding artists can let their imagination run wild at Kate Tulett’s art workshops. Book via www.katetulettart.com
  • The Limpsfield Club is hosting junior tennis and table tennis camps throughout the holidays. Camps run Monday–Thursday until 21 August.

  • 3 August – SUN-SETS: Enjoy feel-good live Latin sounds from Close Keys, performing al fresco.
  • 7 August – Quiz Night: A relaxed evening of trivia.
  • 14 August – Classic Car Evening: A must for car enthusiasts, in collaboration with Classic Car Connections.
  • Titsey Festival (30 August): A second helping of this fantastic new music festival featuring local talent, food, drinks, kids’ activities, and free parking.

There’s no better time to explore the beauty and history of Limpsfield:

  • Follow the Family Trail at Limpsfield Chart, winding through woodland and historic sites.

  • Head to our wonderful green spaces, such as the Community Orchard at Grub Street or see how many bird and bat boxes you can spot up in the trees at Ridlands Grove.  Did you know there’s a duck pond at Padbrook? It’s a great place to go and sit quietly while doing a bit of nature spotting.

Afternoon Tea Week (11–17 August) 

Celebrate Afternoon Tea Week in Limpsfield with a delightful selection of local spots to enjoy a classic treat. In Limpsfield Village, savour homemade cakes and fresh brews at Coffee at Kiwi House, or at our historic pub, The Bull Inn (Weds to Sunday).

On Limpsfield Chart, the Carpenters Arms offers a cosy countryside setting for teas and coffees – and perhaps a pudding off the menu; Fika Blends and Friends gorgeous coffee trailer is in High Chart Car Park – Thursday, Friday and Sunday, while Sunday Teas at St Andrew’s Village Hall run throughout August from 3-5PM, raising funds for the church, and the Reigate and Caterham food bank—perfect for a relaxing weekend catch-up for a great cause.

Don’t miss the Chart Coffee Mornings, held every Wednesday for a friendly, informal gathering. And for a scenic experience, head up to the Titsey Tea Rooms at the Titsey Estate, offering tea and cake with views of the North Downs. A perfect way to celebrate the timeless British tradition!
