Rising Stars Bring Musical Mastery to Limpsfield
Hazlewood School’s Bawtree Hall will host an evening of exquisite classical music on Saturday 12 July, presented by the Oxted & Limpsfield Music Society. Two outstanding young musicians—cellist Kosta Popović and pianist Luke Lally Maguire, both from London’s Guildhall School of Music and Drama—will perform a diverse programme from Bach to Britten. This is a rare chance to experience world-class music in an intimate local setting.
Montenegrin-born Popović, a former Whitgift scholar and Guildhall postgraduate, has already graced stages such as Wigmore Hall and BBC Radio 3, and performs regularly with ensembles like the Academy of Ancient Music. Dublin-born Lally Maguire, a prize-winning soloist and chamber musician, has recently completed his Artist Diploma and is also celebrated for his work with the award-winning Trio Casella.
Their programme features Bach’s timeless Sonata for Viola da Gamba, Walker’s soulful Cello Sonata, and works by Debussy, de Falla, Dvořák, and Britten — a sweeping tour through some of the cello repertoire’s most expressive and captivating compositions.
- Time: 7:00 PM
- Venue: Hazlewood School
